Finance Officer

Job Description

Access Community Housing Company is a community housing provider based in Cairns, delivering high-quality, accessible and inclusive housing solutions. Housing more than 1,250 tenants across 700+ homes, Access Community Housing strives to improve the lives of vulnerable people through accessible, affordable and sustainable housing, while delivering services with respect, equity and compassion.

We are seeking a dedicated Finance Officer to join our Finance team. In this role, you will provide high-quality finance and administrative support while helping ensure the smooth operation of our financial processes. Description Summary

The Finance Officer will provide high-quality finance and administrative support to the Financial Controller and assist other members of the Finance team as required. The role is responsible for all aspects of creditors and debtors, including the accurate and timely processing of payments, as well as financial adjustments to tenancy agreements where required.

Core duties include:

  • Preparation and processing of creditors and debtors, including invoice reviews, tenant on-charging discussions, and payment processing.
  • Liaising with contractors regarding invoicing, statements and insurance.
  • Processing financial transactions relating to tenancy agreements, including rent adjustments, water charges, refunds and bond transactions.
  • Preparation of fortnightly payroll for review by the Financial Controller.
  • Preparation of landlord payments for review by the Financial Controller.
  • Daily processing, review and reconciliation of tenant payments via Centrepay and EFT.
  • Oversight of petty cash and banking transactions.
  • Assisting with end-of-month processes.
  • Maintaining accurate records to support audit requirements.
  • Providing administrative support, including assisting with incoming phone calls and walk-ins at reception.

  • A current Queensland driver licence
  • A current Blue Card Working with Children Check (or the ability to obtain one)
